TAISSA VILA
Founding Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Regional Health – Americas, part of the Lancet Group's global initiative to expand quality and access to health care by advancing the research agenda, clinical practice and health policy through a regional lens. Currently based in Rio de Janeiro, Taissa is also a member of the Lancet's Group for Racial Equality (GRacE). Before joining the Lancet family of journals, she worked at the University of Maryland Baltimore (USA) and at the University of Texas at San Antonio (USA) as a postdoctoral researcher. Holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a master's degree and a PhD in Cell Biology/Biophysics from the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute, also at UFRJ.
