LOUISE BAUR
Louise Baur is Chair of Child and Adolescent Health at The University of Sydney and is also a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Leadership Fellow. She is a consultant paediatrician in Weight Management Services at Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network where her team provides multi-disciplinary care for children and adolescents with moderate to severe obesity.
Louise has specific research expertise in the prevention and management of children and adolescent obesity. For example, she is Director of the Australian NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in the Early Prevention of Obesity in Childhood (www.earlychildhoodobesity.com), the principal investigator of the Fast Track Trial, and an investigator on the Eating Disorders In weight-related Therapy (EDIT) Collaboration (www.editcollaboration.com)
Louise is also President of the World Obesity Federation and President of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, Australia’s newest Learned Academy.
