Barry M. Popkin, PhD, is the W. R. Kenan, Jr. distinguished professor of nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC); Founder, Global Food Research Program(GFRP). UNC. He is an economist/nutrition epidemiologists whose4 current focus is on large-scale regulatory efforts globally and understanding this latest stage of the nutrition transition. He is a previous recipient of the World Obesity Federation Population Science and Public Health Awar (2016).;
