DAVID RAUBENHEIMER

David Raubenheimer holds the Leonard P. Ullman Chair in Nutritional Ecology and is Nutrition
Theme Leader in the Charles Perkins Centre, an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of
Sydney focussed on obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. David is an expert in nutritional
ecology, the field that studies how interactions of animal biology with food environments
reciprocally influence the animal and environment. His ecological research is broadly comparative
and interdisciplinary, involving several dozen species from insects and spiders to non-human
primates. For the past 15 years, he has applied the framework of nutritional ecology and associated
models to examine the interactions of human biology with food environments, with a particular
interest in obesity.
