Professora Titular do Departamento de Clínica Médica, Disciplina de Endocrinologia e Metabologia da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo. Bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa do CNPq - nível 1A e Membro Titular da Academia Brasileira de Ciências. Ganhadora do Prêmio Richard E. Weitzman Memorial Award (2003), Prêmio International of Excellence in Endocrinology (2019), ambos concedidos pela Sociedade Americana de Endocrinologia, Prêmio Pesquisador Sênior concedido pela SBEM (2019) e membro honorífico da Sociedade Espanhola de Endocrinologia Pediátrica (2023). Autora de 220 artigos completos publicados em periódicos internacionais e nacionais, com destaque aos artigos nas revistas, The New England Journal of Medicine e The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. .
